Happy February 14th...

And so it has commenced.
The day where truth lurks behind every corner.
I can not escape the painful realization of loneliness
that I try so hard to forget, to store away,
to convince myself that it's just not my time yet,
but Pandora's box has been opened on this treacherous day.
Releasing every pathetic emotion that was once safely bottled up.
How can one celebrate a feeling that has never been felt?
I squint my eyes, tighten my jaw, clench my fists as I see them walk by
only to lower my head in response.
Oh what a pitiful soul that resides inside me!
When this day of joy and love is over, only then will I be free
of these everlasting chains that bind me.
Chains that will never be broken but have only forever crushed my heart.
